Berkshire Hathaway Unit Buys Telematics Service Provider

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance announces it has signed an agreement to purchase the assets of MyAssist Inc., a live-agent personal-assistance and telematics service provider. John Noel, founder, chairman and CEO of Noel Group, will continue to head the MyAssist operations and focus on growing its business globally.

"MyAssist, with its record of innovative and outstanding service, fits extremely well with Berkshire Hathaway," says Peter Eastwood, president of Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance. “Its capabilities complement our existing positions in insurance and customer service, and will help us extend our brand and create new business opportunities.”

Corporate customers of MyAssist include Ford Motor Company, Mercedes-Benz USA, and Verizon Telematics.
