Homesite Increases Efficiencies with 1insurer Claims

1insurer announces Homesite Group, a fully-owned subsidiary of American Family Mutual Insurance, has achieved increased scalability and greater operational efficiencies through an implementation of 1insurer Claims, a component of the 1insurer suite.

Homesite worked collaboratively with 1insurer to implement and deploy 1insurer Claims as the foundation for the internally-labelled Homesite Claims Management System (CMS). The main business driver was to be able to leverage business partners and customers more effectively to positively affect cycle times and achieve better scalability during catastrophic events. Homesite continuously and proactively prepares for catastrophic events to ensure maximum responsiveness to customer needs in even the most challenging of circumstances.

"The collaboration with 1insurer allows Homesite to minimize redundant or duplicative claims processes," says Grace Hanson, senior vice president and chief claims officer for Homesite. "This means it is easier for us to continue to reduce costs while enabling seamless customer self-service for claims reporting and flexibility around high-volume reporting events, like large catastrophes."

In addition, Homesite and 1insurer worked together to:

  • Allow customers and business partners to report claims directly and seamlessly eliminating manual-re-keying and expediting the claims handling process; and
  • Institute automatic routing of claims to specialized adjusters based on predetermined criteria.

"We have a very collaborative working relationship with both the Homesite business and IT teams and this is demonstrated in the efficiencies we've been able to create together," says Euan King, president, North America for 1insurer. "Utilizing 1insurer Claims as the foundation for a larger efficiency-focused project has allowed Homesite to streamline internal operations for the benefit of both internal and external customers. After all the hard work, it is very gratifying to see Homesite's accomplishments recognized and included in the case study round for the Novarica Impact Awards this year."
