ISCS Adds Business Intelligence Expert to Team

Staff Writer | August 27, 2015

ISCS announces that Barry Ralston has joined the ISCS team and will work at the solution provider’s Birmingham office. Ralston brings an extensive technology, data, and analytics background to ISCS, including roles as associate vice president of data management for Infinity Insurance, regional solution architect at Hewlett-Packard (HP), and chief architect at ComFrame Software.

Ralston is experienced in operations applying to customer behavior, product modeling and statistical process control, such as data mining solutions combining multi-dimensional databases with modeling.

"I am excited about this opportunity to work for ISCS," he says. "I am committed to revolutionizing insurance with data, and considering SurePower Innovation's strong architecture combined with insurers' need for deeper insight into data, I see great potential here to further improve ISCS's analytics capabilities and help prepare insurers for the future."

Ralston is a published author in the field of software usage, and a patented creator of Zip Rator, a method of providing an insurance rate comprising storing combinations rates based on fields of information in a database, receiving a piece of information relating to one of the fields of information, and pulling an insurance rate based on a pre-calculated average of premiums for individuals. He attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Ralston's skills will help ISCS strengthen SurePower Innovation's analytic and business intelligence (BI) capabilities to enable customers to access and understand critical core insurance data, and therefore, make better-informed business decisions.

"Barry adds considerable energy and expertise to the team we have working on mobility and accessibility here in Birmingham and company-wide on insurance core administration," said Doug Moore, vice president and chief technology officer for ISCS. "He has expertise from both inside and outside the insurance industry, and we are looking forward implementing many of the new ideas and processes he brings to the table."
