Innovation Creates Life-changing Advances in Insurance

Whenever organizations are required to innovate, heads naturally turn toward IT due to years of conditioning by over-hyped technology product launches and a “there’s an app for that” mentality which drives expectations of instant gratification, a desire for increased personalization in products and service, and new behavior patterns created by (at least a couple of) truly life-changing technology advances.

The mash-up of insurance and technology (insurtech) can only be successful if innovation is not limited to IT, according to Egbert, but extends into product definition, processes, workflows, regulation, and culture across all disciplines within an insurance company, including accounting/finance, operations, underwriting, customer service, distribution channels and IT.
