SAIF Selects Guidewire’s Policy, Billing Systems

Guidewire Software announces SAIF Corporation, Oregon’s not-for-profit, state-chartered workers’ compensation insurance company, will be implementing Guidewire software. Specifically, SAIF has selected Guidewire PolicyCenter as its new underwriting, rating, and policy administration system and Guidewire BillingCenter to manage its billing operations, including agency and commissions.

SAIF selected the solutions to replace the company’s internally-developed policy administration and billing management systems. The company also selected Guidewire Rating Management, Client Data Management, and Business Intelligence for InsuranceSuite. SAIF will be converting its policyholders to the new systems at renewal.

“We were attracted by Guidewire’s product maturity and the company’s long-term commitment to its products,” says Ken Collins, CIO of SAIF. “We look forward to the enhancements PolicyCenter and BillingCenter will bring to our business.”

PolicyCenter and BillingCenter will enable SAIF to:

  • Communicate more effectively with agents and policyholders;
  • Bring new products and product enhancements to market more quickly; and
  • Improve operational efficiencies and reduce overall costs by standardizing on a modern software technology platform.

That is what we do,” says Bruce Hoffman, vice president, underwriting services, SAIF. “Leveraging PolicyCenter and BillingCenter will enable us to focus on our core mission, freeing us from having to maintain a fleet of custom systems.”
