The ITA in 2015: Bigger and Busier
Robert Regis Hyle | January 05, 2015
The first week of every New Year is a time for hope. Plans have been put in place and unless there were some extremely challenging deadlines attached, nothing has failed thus far. So let’s agree we can all be optimistic about what lies ahead in the next 360 days.
There are plenty of big plans here at the Insurance Technology Association. After one year of operation, the ITA has gained strong traction within the industry and we are looking forward to greater achievements in 2015.
The most exciting change for the ITA in 2015 will come this spring with our inaugural event, ITA LIVE, set for Fort Lauderdale, Fla. from April 12-14. Registration for the event is now open and you can check out the agenda for what we believe will be a terrific blend of interesting discussions on issues that affect both IT and business leaders on a daily basis.
We also plan to initiate a new industry award, the ITA Bridge Award, which will go to an IT leader and a business side counterpart who have demonstrated the ability to collaborate on important issues and “bridge” the gap between technology and business. Look for more information on the ITA Bridge Award in the next couple of weeks. The winners will be announced at ITA LIVE.
There will be eight issues of our magazine, ITA Pro, published in 2015, which is two more than were published in 2014. While some believe that print issues are dinosaurs, we obviously disagree and judging by the feedback from the ITA membership, neither do you. We’ve added a fifth print issue to our editorial calendar as well as an extra digital-only issue, which brings us to a total of eight issues in 2015.
We also are in the final stages of reorganizing the ITA Pro Buyers Guide, our online information and shopping tool that allows insurance carriers to connect with technology solution providers in all the vendor disciplines. A wide variety of content has been added to the site that will focus on ways to improve collaboration between solution providers and insurance carriers. Look for this later this month.
So 2015 will be an extremely busy and exciting year for the ITA. We hope you enjoyed what we delivered in our first year of operation because if you did, we believe you will really enjoy what we have to offer this year.
