Vertafore Launches SignOn Solution with ID Federation

Vertafore announces the availability of the ID Federation SignOn Once initiative for early adopters, to address the industry wide credential management concerns faced by agencies and carriers.

Password management is one of the top pain points in the insurance industry, as agencies are burdened with the management of numerous user ID’s and passwords for each carrier they support. This typically requires significant IT resources and time investments from agents managing multiple carrier relationships. It also poses serious security risks when individuals from agencies or carriers leave an organization, carrying with them the knowledge of their previous user ID’s and passwords.

The Identity Federation solution from Vertafore, guided by the framework of the ID Federation industry body SignOn Once, allows agencies and carriers to increase security of information and records, while streamlining their account management and login processes. 

“Vertafore has worked with leading carriers to create a solution based on the efforts the ID Federation group has been working hard to build,” says Mark Craig, senior vice president of product management for Vertafore. “The customer experience Vertafore has created eliminates the need for password management and maintenance for the carriers in support of ID Federation. As a non-profit collaborative that works to provide common legal and technical standards for the management of individual agency user authentication, the ID Federation Group SignOn Once initiative is dedicated to advocating for carriers, vendors and agency bodies, to spread innovative practices across the insurance industry.

The SignOn Once solution enables ID Federation with the use of real-time connectivity products (TransactNOW and PLR) and assists with tracking and management of hundreds of carrier credentials that can change every 30, 45, 60 or 90 days at different increments for different people.
