Companies in every industry are under more pressure than ever to move quickly to better satisfy evolving customer preferences. The stakes are high, and for insurance companies, achieving business agility can mean the difference between success and failure. 

The World Insurance Report (WIR) 2018, a new study by CapGemini and Efma, showed that executives understand the necessity for improving the customer experience. In fact, 

  • 65% cited the need for end-to-end personalization of the customer's insurance journey as their most pressing imperative for the future, while,
  • 63% highlighted the need to integrate new data sources.

Today, a more strategic data analytics approach to information is everything to insurers—those insurers who can wield its power for actionable insights can create a competitive advantage for themselves. The key step for insurers is to elevate their data analytics activity from operational/tactical to a more strategic perspective. To do so requires a shift in thinking and approach, and a realignment that puts the data analytics effort at the center of the strategic plan.
